Center Stage Opera presents The Barber of Seville here at Family of God on Friday, November 2nd at 7:30 pm. This rapid-fire romp kicks off with a famous overture and veers into a hilarious series of disguises, trickery and tomfoolery. Determined to win the heart of the beautiful, strong-willed Rosina with charm and wit- rather than nobility and wealth-Count Almaviva enlists the help of the wily barber Figaro to steal her away from the lecherous Dr. Bartolo. The opera is sung in Italian with each act preceded by a synopsis of the action. The production features exceptional singers from the mid-Atlantic region, and all are welcome to meet and greet them after the performance. There will be light refreshments during intermissions, and tickets will be on sale at the door: $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for students, cash or check only.
